The dream of just disappearing.

For days, riding out, not a soul with any familiarity. Your faces, all of your faces, days away from my eyes. Protection of locked car doors and a dark blanket, sleeping into the night. And alone, unknown, at some anonymous roadside. Proper rules of productivity and usefulness and meaning, fogging at my windows, wiped away by my hand in the morning dawn hours. Credit of friendships, foundations, and family, forgotten like a feeble breeze upon the forehead. Please, open my eyes, and a see a world where no one remembers me. Remember nothing of years gone by before, just remember the night before, and the quiet of the night.
