2003-11-12 - 7:42 a.m.

Its 7:42 am. Light is in the windows, leaking in through the bottom of the blinfs, glowing, gleaming gold-white. Somewhere outside is using a jack-hammer, others outside are driving cars, a heard one bus go by just now. The toaster oven's timer clicks, pacing itself 1,2 1,2 1,2 1,2 1,2 over and over. It just dinged, but it keeps clicking 1,2. It usually does that for a minute or more after it stops toasting. The tower huffs gently, and I keep looking at the clock, only so many more minutes until I go to work.
